You know what they say! Behind every straight cis male keys player stands an even greater gay genderqueer vocalist with breakneck bops to spare. The duo hail from Perth, WA and have only been out and releasing music into the world since 2018. They spent the majority of 2017 writing and discovering what was a much needed change from the normality of their session musician lifestyle up until then.
Priscilla and Luke started from a mutual love for synthesisers and major chords, but quickly gained a reputation in both WA and the East Coast for lyrics that inspire thoughts on our current social climate. Backed by music described by Declan Byrne on Home and Hosed (about their latest release Feeling Higher) as pop music that’s “glittery but then it hits with a huge huge monsoonal force”.
“Delivering the electro pop sound of the future” (Purple Sneakers), PRISCILLA’s powerful live set has landed them supports with bands like The Presets, San Cisco, Haiku Hands, EDEN, Wafia, Woodes, Matthew Young and more. Within just over a year of performing live, the duo have gotten audiences grooving main stages at Fairbridge Festival, RTRFM’s Fremantle Winter Music Festival, WAMFest and even illustrious events such as WA Art Gallery’s annual Art Ball.
2019 is proving to be another big year for the duo with their first release of the year landing rotation on Triple J Unearthed Radio, getting a spins on Triple J (following the trend of their other tracks), championed by community radio and still have several other tracks ready to release.
